Abbreviate   縮寫; 節略

To be convenient, many people abbreviate the "cellular phone" to "cell phone".  為了方便，很多人把 "cellular phone" (蜂巢式行動電話)簡略為"cell phone"(蜂巢行動電話)。

不要把 "Abbreviate" 跟 "acronym"首字母縮寫搞錯了。

"NASA" stands for the "National Aeronautics and Space Administration".  NASA是 "National Aeronautics and Space Administration"(美國國家航空暨太空管理局)的首字母略語。
